Are Moringa seeds edible?

In the preceding post, I started a series of 50 questions people ask about Moringa oleifera. In the previous post I answered a question about moringa flowers. In this post, I would treat the next question.
Did you know you can make moringa oil from seeds at the comfort of your home?

2. Are moringa seeds edible?

Yes. Moringa seeds are edible.

They are usually eaten raw or roasted (when dried). The green immature seeds could be boiled or fried. Oil from the dried seeds is also edible and highly medicinal. When chewed, the dried seeds taste slightly bitter.

Few minutes after chewing the seeds, you get a sweet after taste in your throat. The sweet taste usually increases when you drink water immediately after chewing the seeds.
Caution: Do not chew more than two moringa seeds

               at a time; Eat maximum of  four seeds/day.

 Health benefits of moringa seeds

• Seeds are used against fevers.

• Seeds are used to treat abdominal tumours

• A report from Nicaragua says that consumption of two Moringa seed kernel morning and night daily can reduce pains, arthritis and back pain.
• In Aruba (an island in the southern Caribbean sea), a paste of crushed seeds is spread on warts. A wart is a small, rough growth resembling a cauliflower or a solid blister. It typically occurs on humans' hands or feet but often in other locations).
